HISTORIC DISTRICT ORDINANCE REVISIONS
The public meeting process of the proposed Historic District Ordinance Revisions has been completed. We thank those who attended, but attendance was woefully inadequate. I strongly encourage those of you who did not attend to take advantage of the opportunity to educate yourself about the Revisions and make your comments known through the MPC blog only until July 12, 2009. http://www.savannahhdrc.org/default.aspx
To help you better understand how the proposed revisions would work, HSF has obtained a copy of the resource manual and I invite you to come to our office and read it. Familiarizing yourself with the 'how to's' of the ordinance revisions and what they would mean in practice will help you make more informed comments. The Savannah Historic District Ordinance Architecture and Urbanism Resource Manual is available for review in our office Monday - Friday at 321 E. York Street between 9 am and 5 pm. The easy-to-follow manual includes subjects on height, lot coverage, large-scale development, urban design as well as visual case studies and a history of the ordinance.
Please don't hesitate to contact Cassie Dolecki - Landberg at 233-7787 with specific questions regarding this draft ordinance review process or to schedule a time to review this manual. Copies of this manual are also available at the MPC located at 110 East State Street.
I hope you take advantage of this opportunity to participate in the review process.
